Tickle me

Heather promised Carina that she would tickle her when Carina was done with her toast. Once she shoved in the last bite, it was time to pay up. Unfortunately, Carina did not seem to want to have her picture taken.

However, Carina could not resist the Mommy tickles and was then too distracted to worry about the camera!

Summer

My summer vacation is officially here, and I'm excited to do all of the fun stuff (and some not fun stuff) that I've had no time for over the past 10 months. Carina and I started swimming lessons this week....I tried to get a picture of her cute post-swim ponytail that was all wet and curly, but this is the best I could do...


I have lots of other stuff in store....
*Take Carina for a bus and train ride.
*Visit my mom.
*Check out storytime at the local library.
*Get caught up in my scrapbook.
*Take Carina to the beach....a few times! We live about 30 minutes away and it is a shame that we've only taken Carina one time.
*Read. I've just started Twilight...we'll see if it sucks me in like everyone says it will. I'm also reading a teacher book, To Understand. I know....boring, but it's REALLY good.
*Have a picnic in the park.
*Watch some movies. I can't wait to see My Sister's Keeper, and I've got Into the Wild on Netflix.
*Take Carina to the California Mid State Fair and let her make a mess with an ice cream cone.
*Organize my closet and do some general cleaning.
*Trip to Germany and France....Dave will be traveling there for work, and if all goes well, I'll be meeting up with him for part of the trip. Carina will stay behind and watch the cats ;-)
*Blog more!!
*Give Carina some extra love....that's the easiest one on my list! :-)

Any other fun ideas out there?

I started working on my scrapbook yesterday and realized as I put in pictures from a year ago that Carina was a baby last year, but is a really big girl now....


She's been potty trained for awhile now and had her first diaper-free nap today. She's still been wearing diapers at nap and overnight, but has been mostly waking up dry (or waking up to go and then go back to bed). Today I decided to just go for it. Of course, she was fine. We'll keep the night diapers on until she's more consistent with that.

Well, I've just finished up my first summer movie, and it's time to go to bed!

Taking Pictures

When Carina is in a good mood, she'll let you take her picture. This day I was trying to get a picture of the artwork she had made at daycare...


Most of the time, however, Carina does not want to get her picture taken. On this day I was trying to get a picture of the super cute side ponytail that she had in. She wanted nothing of it...


Carina continues to get bigger....lately it seems like she's grown so tall. She seems like such a big girl. Her vocabulary is getting bigger every day, and her sentences amaze me. Today my mom called and Carina ran downstairs, said, "Mommy, I'll get the phone," and then picked it up, turned it on, and said hello! I was laughing so hard!! She definitely is a cutie pie.

Summer vacation is just around the corner for me, and that means two months with Carina! We're already signed up for swim lessons again, and I'm looking into various story times in different places. I can't wait!
