The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
The Good: The baby's room!
You can see that it's actually looking ready for a baby. Our glider pad finally came in (and both Dave and I have already been relaxing in it to break it in :-)! My mom gave us the super adorable bug quilt she made for the crib and thanks to my in-laws we've got the mattress in the crib and a place to keep all of the baby's books. I've even washed and put away some super tiny (and super cute) clothes!
The Bad: The return of heartburn!
Ugh! I had a short bout of this earlier on in pregnancy but it went away. Now, it is back with a vengeance. Last week it was so bad at work that while I was up doing math problems at the overhead I actually thought I was going to have excuse myself so that I could throw up! Yuck!!
The Ugly: "Swankles"
As you can see from the picture at right, I'm having some issues with pregnancy edema. I've had a busy few days thanks to some staff development that the literacy team I'm on was planning at work. It meant a lot of walking around, being at work at all hours, and just general stress. Last night I was so excited it was all over and excited that I made it through. Then, as I was getting ready for bed I looked down at my feet and saw that my poor ankles were swollen to a size that didn't look so good. I immediately put my feet up and this morning they looked better. I tried to stay off my feet today, but (as the picture shows) I still have swollen ankles (or as Dave so lovingly refers to them - swankles).
Only 29 more days to go - I've got my fingers crossed for lots more good, way less bad, and a complete void of ugliness!
