Miss Helper

Carina is quite the little helper these days. She loves to push our little hand vac around and she helps me put the silverware away from the dishwasher. She got a new stuffed froggy from our friend, Leslee, this past weekend and she likes trying to put a diaper on him (and she doesn't forget the wipes or diaper cream either). Here she is starting the process...

Carina is also turning into quite a little monkey. She is climbing on everything. The other day she pushed a chair up to the changing table and then pushed the step stool up to the chair and started going for it. She also loves to climb on the ottoman for the rocker in her room.

Carina said her first word (uh-oh) at around 11 months, but since then it has been slow going with the vocabulary - until now! In the last two weeks or so she has started repeating back everything - it's really fairly amazing. Now, the words are not exactly right, but I figure if I can tell what she's saying, well that's good enough. :-) The highlight was yesterday morning when she saw a picture of Cousin Liam and said, "Hello Liam!" She kept saying it over and over. Luckily after we got Liam on the phone she said it for him too.

We leave for Wisconsin on Thursday. We're taking Carina to meet her Great Grandma Reuterskiold for the first time and we'll also be attending Dave's cousin's wedding. It will be our first time traveling with Carina on an airplane, so I'm hoping it all goes well. Whenever she sees a plane in the sky she points and says, "plane", so I've been really trying to talk it up. We've brought fun new toys and lots of snacks just in case :-)
