Cal Poly Homecoming

Cal Poly may have won their homecoming game (49-3), but that still didn't make the weekend a great one for us.
It really started Wednesday when I got a call from Carina's daycare that she had thrown up. I went to get her, but wasn't really too worried. She has been having a problem lately with overeating and then throwing up. We've been to the doctor and are doing what we can to monitor her food intake to prevent the situation. Unfortunately, it still is happening. So, when I picked her up I figured it was the same thing. Then, on the way home...she threw up in the car. That was not usual. Then, after dinner she threw up again. Hmm....something is strange here. She seemed tired though so I put her to bed normally. She slept for about two hours and then woke up. That was the start of a very long night. She pretty much threw up every hour or two until morning. It was not fun...for baby or mommy!
I stayed home from work on Thursday. She was tired and cranky all day and also started having diarrhea. She also developed a low fever. By Friday, I thought she was starting to feel better. The fever was gone and she hadn't thrown up again. Dave had already planned to take the day off and head to SLO early, so he decided to take Carina with him. I headed off to work. At nap time, Dave and Carina headed to SLO. Things were going well until a pitt stop. Dave got Carina out of the car and she threw up - luckily, all over the ground. They made it to SLO and when it was time for Dave to run a few Alumni Band errands, Grandma and Grandpa Reuterskiold showed up to watch Carina. I started my drive after school got out, and made it to SLO around 6:30. Carina seemed to be feeling better by the time I got there. She was not thrilled about taking a bath, but slept well.

Saturday morning we got up and went to Cal Poly for the band's morning rehearsal. Carina was not 100%, but seemed to be doing OK. We tried to go to lunch, but the food was taking awhile and she was just not feeling great, so we took our food to go and headed back to the hotel for a nap. She slept well, and was excited to wake up and find we had a visitor, Grandma Laural. We headed back to Cal Poly for the band's march down to the game. We watched Dave conduct the Alumni Band....
Carina tried to have fun watching the band, but was having a hard time...
We followed the band to the Alumni BBQ and then watched them take the field. Carina was not happy to have to be passed back to Mommy (from Grandma), for a picture with Amy and fellow band baby, Hannah....
She was trying to be a trooper, but this was her by the afternoon...

She mostly just seemed tired, so we decided to put her in the stroller and walk around downtown a bit. We went to CPK for dinner and she seemed excited to eat bread and some of Hannah's mac 'n cheese. We got back to the hotel and got ready for bed. When we walked over to say goodnight to Amy and Hannah, Carina threw up - all over their hotel room floor :-( Carina was not happy, but went right to bed and slept all night.

Sunday morning she was still acting tired and cranky so I decided to just head to my mom's house. Carina seemed to be doing better, but was still very tired and cranky. Things went well until late afternoon when Carina threw up - all over grandma :-( I had planned to stay an extra day at my mom's, but decided to follow Dave home in case Carina got worse. Luckily, she slept the whole way home. Monday was the same thing again....she seemed to be doing better (except for being tired and cranky), but then she threw up again! Ugh! I decided to call the doctor and they suggested we come in. So, this morning we went to the doctor. The doctor said it was probably just the flu, but we hurried up an x-ray we had planned to do for the other vomiting issue. The doctor said she probably just has an oversensitive tummy and that causes the overeating vomiting issues and the vomiting with the flu to keep going on like this. The x-rays will tell us if there is anything physically wrong that is causing this. She had a good day today and seemed to be excited to play and eat - and, best of all, no vomit! So, hopefully she has a good night.
