What Does Carina Do?
She looks cute - I've been meaning to post Carina's two-year pictures for a week now, but our scanner was not cooperating. Sorry for the delay! Here are a couple of our favorites:

She talks, talks, talks - Carina is talking up a storm. She adds new words to her vocabulary all of the time, and her sentences are getting more complex. One of the cutest new words she learned was "Carina." We've been trying to get her to say if for a long time, but whenever you asked her she would point to herself and say "Baby." Finally she will say "Carina"....and it's super cute! She actually likes to say names in general...well, except one name - "Auntie Crystal." Now, she can say it - she just won't. I think she's messing with her. Poor Crystal just can't get any love!
She acts smart - Carina has a pretty good little memory. Just today I was putting her in the new shirt she had worn once for the pics we took (the yellow one above), and she says "pictures Momma." She has also learned her ABC's - well.....kinda ;-) She knows what letters are and will point to them on books and cards and say, "ABC's." It's pretty cute! She has learned a couple of shapes....star and heart. No idea why those two, but she can pick them out all over the place. She still thinks everything is "geen" when it comes to colors, but we're taking it a few things at a time ;-)
She asks questions (lots of them) - Carina always wants to know, "What this? What that?" Another current phrase is, "Huuhhh?" She'll say this when she doesn't understand something you've said. I really wish I could get her to do it on video because it is super funny! She draws it out really long and has the perfect inflection in her voice.
She plays - Carina likes to pretend. She likes to put fake food on the table at the park and pretend to eat it. She still loves to play with her babies and put diapers on them. Her favorite game is Hide and Seek. She loves it! Maybe a little bit too much. At the park she now loves to go down the slide on her tummy face first.
She poops - Carina is finally admitting when she goes to the bathroom. She used to run in a corner and hide, do her business, and then when you asked her about it she would run away saying "nooooo". Now she is OK to admit that she's taken care of business and even told me she had to go "pee-pee" when she was running around with no diaper. Could potty training be in our near future? Hmmmm.....
She sings (well, she listens and tries to sing) - Carina loves songs - well, she loves two songs: Row, Row, Row Your Boat and She'll Be Comin' Around the Mountain. I have sung these so many times!! I try to bring in new ones, but rarely will she let me. A few others I can sneak in on occasion are The ABC's and I've Been Workin' on the Railroad.
And what is it like to be Mommy these days? I just got a new car last weekend, so pretty darn good! After finally paying too much for one repair too many, I decided to trade in the Jetta. This time I listened to my Dad and got a car he approved of :-) I'm now driving a Toyota Rav4 - it is so nice! Carina gets in and says, "Mommy new car clean." Hmm...I wonder what she's trying to say?
I'll leave you with what it's like to be a Daddy these days-mornings snuggling up with the cutest baby in the world before it's time to get ready for the day (this particular day was so cute I had to run up and take a picture before I left for work)...

What ever you are doing....we hope you're having as much fun as Carina is!
