Ambergris Cay

We took a small (and I mean small!) plane from the jungle to Ambergris Cay, a small island off the coast of Belize. This part of the trip was all about diving and relaxing and eating....and diving! Here we are at the beginning of the week...

Eating...we ate a lot of good food while we were there. Some of the highlights included some papusas from some lady cooking them on the street and the molten lava chocolate cake at our hotel, Victoria House! We also found this amazing frozen custard place that we went to quite a few times. Dave's favorite stop was at Elvis's Kitchen...

Relaxing...we took a nap almost every day! When diving was canceled on one of the mornings we briefly considered finding some other activity to do and then decided we'd nap instead. It is definitely one thing we don't get to do a lot of with a two year old at home. I got in a little extra relaxation when I read on the beach for a couple hours while Dave went on a dive. So nice!

Diving, diving, and more diving...in our six days there, we dove on five of them. Dave logged 12 dives and I got in 11. Not bad! I had been nervous to get back in the water after not diving for almost three years, but I had no problems at all. Well, except for the first dive when I got sea sick and threw up A LOT! Other than that, it was all good. We took a lot of dive photos, but here are the highlights...

On Saturday night we took a sunset sail. Here I am waiting for the boat...

Here Dave and I are enjoying our last evening...

And how was Carina during all of this??? Having fun while wearing out the grandparents....

We were supposed to be back on Sunday, but due to some baggage issue in Dallas we actually ended up getting home Monday. This kinda sucked since Sunday was also my birthday and I was REALLY looking forward to getting some birthday love from my Carina! She was very excited to see us when we finally did make it home though!

Who else has a name like Reuterskiold? Me - that's who! Just out of boredom, I Googled my birth name (Anne Reuterskiold) and lo' and behold, reuterskiold.com? Wonder if we're related?

Nice pics, BTW. Looks like you had a great trip.

Oh yeah...one more thing...I'm not a crazy stalker. :-) Just a not-so-shy web surfer with your same last name! (well, it used to be anyway)
