New York City

For Thanksgiving this year I got to go to New York City with my mom and sister. We had such an amazing time. A few highlights...

Our hotel was right in Times Square...it was so fun walking around and soaking in the excitement.

I am a huge fan of the show Friends. Actually, my mom, sister, and I all are. So, it made perfect sense that we would fit a trip into the Friends' "house" while we were there.

After our stop at the Friends' house we went to the World Trade Center site. We went on a tour while we were there. Our leader was a survivor of the attacks. She worked in the south terror (the second building to be hit) and evacuated the building just minutes before the plane hit the building. Her first-hand account was very interesting. I thought back to when I had gone up into the observation decks of the buildings when Dave and I visited NYC in '99.

We also visited one of the most famous sites in NYC: the Statue of Liberty! Here is a view of the famous skyline from the ferry. You'll notice an extra friend with Crystal and I...that's Lama Drama. Lama Drama is Carina's stuffed animal. Dave has taken Lama Drama with him on a couple of business trips, so I took him with me to NYC. We had fun taking pictures of him being touristy with us. I sent Carina pictures while we were there to show her how much fun we were all having.

We saw two Broadway shows. First, we saw Phantom of the Opera. I had seen it once in high school, but it was amazing to see it in NYC! We also got tickets to Mary Poppins. I really loved that one and thought it was "practically perfect in every way." Here is my mom and Crystal while we were waiting for Phantom to start.

Overall we had a great time. It was fun to hang out with two of my favorite people in the whole world in such a fun and exciting place. We also learned a lot - we hit up quite a few museums and other interesting places. I can't wait to go back!
