It was a very quick trip, but I was able to see a ton of famous sites and a lot of really old stuff!  Here are the lowlights and highlights :-)  And, please excuse any ramblings and bad grammar - I've had very little sleep the past week!

I went to the doctor this past week for some knee pain I've been having (well, I've had knee issues for years, but over the past few months it has gotten worse and worse).  Turns out I have arthritis in my knees.  My doctor said I probably have the 13 years or so of baton twirling and marching to thank for that. Wake up!  If I'm lucky Carina sleeps in until 7:30, but it could be as early as 6:30 that she gets up.  She's almost always in a happy, good mood to see me - sometimes still waking up a little bit.

Walk!  We've been walking around the park every morning.  Carina LOVES being in her stroller and it gets me some much needed exercise, so it's great for both of us.

Summer is here!!  My last day of work was last Thursday, and we've been busy, busy, busy. Daddy liked his picnic, but Carina really had a good time.  She wanted to run around (not instead of eat, but with food in her hands). We met up with his kids (and their families) along with Liam (Crystal had to work, so she didn't join us).  Carina liked watching the animals - she thought the two playing grizzly bears were very funny.  We tried to get her to sit on a bear statue, but she wouldn't have it. * Carina finally hit 20 pounds and is now in a forward facing convertible car seat - she seems so big!
* Her hair is getting longer...and curlier!  I've tried putting her hair in pig tails and barrettes.  It is so cute. We dropped her off at my mom's house on Friday night and drove to Camarillo to stay with one of Dave's college friends.  We woke up Saturday morning and headed to Disneyland.  It was my first time leaving Carina overnight so I was feeling a lot like this poor guy we saw at Disneyland...

She isn't doing so well yet, but we figure it's good practice if nothing else.  She tends to start dipping the spoon in the food and then using her other hand to take the food off the spoon and put it in her mouth.

He was dodging between the trailers and ended up hiding under a trailer near ours.  The whole place was surrounded with officers. Dave's work had a pirate themed party, so Dave went as a pirate and Carina was the best accessory ever...
They held a costume contest and with the help of his parrot, Dave won!  Although the judges did point out that it was really his super cute parrot that got him the prize. She's been in a nursing home for a number of years and we try to visit her whenever we are down there.  Since Carina has been born we've been to see her quite a few times.  Just recently she fell and broke both of her knees.  The doctors gave her only a few weeks to live. Here's an action shot...Yep, our little Carina has started crawling.  She doesn't go very far yet (usually just far enough to get whatever it is that was beyond her reach), but it's pretty darn cute.  Her little knees are all red, but she doesn't seem to care. She was congested and had a slightly elevated temperature.  She had a good day at Michelle's but by Friday night she seemed to be getting worse.  She was so sad!  She sept alright Friday night but her stuffy nose must have been keeping her from very restful sleep.  Saturday was not a good day. The smile is gummy, the cheeks are dimpled, and the sound is the sweetest thing you'll ever hear.  I spend my time doing every silly thing I can just to get a little bit of it and every time she does it I can't help but giving her the biggest smile back.
